1st to 9th February 2014, District Apostle visits Bohol, Cebu, Leyte

On Monday, 10th of February 2014

in a combination of pastoral visit and a due diligence survey on the humanitarian aid projects of NACSEARelief and its international affiliates. In Bohol 5 Church Buildings have been totally damaged and 10 need repair. Work has not started yet because after shocks might still cause additional damage. Good progress is seen in the ALPS Project in Bohol. In cooperation with “Familia Mission” and the local catholic Priest temporary shelters are built in Lawis/Pangpangan Island.

In Leyte Relief work is accomplished and we move now for Reconstruction. Plans are finalized to rebuild churches in 4 barangays besides helping the local residents with building material to reconstruct their homes.  With the Brgy. Captains we are in contact and discuss assistance benefiting the public. Focus is on the Health Care Centers. Sr. Kimberley Kolb, a volunteer worker from the USA will reinforce our team effort.

The Priests convention in Tagbilaran Church as well as divine services in typhoon affected areas to enliven hope and courage and the church dedication on Baring Island were the pastoral part of this 9 days mission. Thank you to all for your prayers and support in this great work.
