The stately Capitol rising up on a hill above Ipil was the venue for a Youth Day from the Zamboanga City, del Sur and del Norte Region. Thanks to the courtesy of the Sibugay Governor, 374 youth and their ministers gathered for a divine service followed by fellowship. The District Apostle conducted the Divine service with the word from Colossians 2:8. Already Apostle Paul admonished not to be cheated by philosophy, empty deceit according to tradition of men and the principles of the world. Progress and accomplishments in our natural life as well as human achievements are not rejected however our life of faith shall never be affected. The snake cheated, by saying: “Did God indeed say….?” or the erroneous opinion “My Master is dealying His coming” The young brothers and sisters enjoyed their day which was at the same time also the introduction of Apostle Leonilo Desoloc who now serves the region after the transfer to Bohol of Apostle Cleofas Bual.
Chief Apostle Leber conducted a divine service in preparation for the service for the departed at Makati Church on 2nd July. The great event where over 5100 members attended took place on Sunday, 4th July in the Coliseum of Bago City, near Bacolod in Negros Occidental. On Monday 5th July the Chief Apostle conducted one more divine service for our members in Mindanao in Panabo City, Davao. 11722 gathered during these days with the Chief Apostle who was accompanied by the District Apostle Latorcai (Canada) and District Apostle Kitching (South Africa). In the late evening hours of Monday 31st May our Apostle in retirement, Francisco Nuyad passed away into eternity. DA Hebeisen conducted the funeral service at our Tagum Church in Davao del Norte on June 2nd and dedicated the word from Matthew 25.21 to him. The next day the Apostles from the Philippines accompanied his body to the last resting place. After long sickness he was finally redeemed after a life of almost 64 years which he dedicated to the Lords service. We are very thankful what he has done and endeavored as a pioneer and missionary in Mindanao.
Our condolence and sincere sympathy goes to his family, especially his wife Erlinda and his children.
