Divine Service for the Departed celebrated in Butuan
It has been a busy weekend for the Apostle Leonilo Desoloc. He hosted the District Apostle and the Apostles Edy Isnugroho from Indonesia, as well as his neighbor Ap. Alfredo Pascual and Ap. Siegfred Catan who all came with their wives. The Sisters had a meeting on their own discussing a livelihood project while the District Rectors gathered for a meeting on the theme “My kingdom is not of this world” sharing a vision what is important and relevant for salvation and what belongs to the life here on earth.
The Divine Service for Brothers in the ministry was based on John 17:18
As you sent Me into the world also have I sent them into the world
which was a follow up on the Chief Apostle’s Brother meeting in Indonesia a week ago. The Rector of Santiago congregation, Priest Marcello Allegre jun. and his wife received the blessing on their silver wedding, witnessed by their 10 children.
The highlight was on Sunday Morning in our Butuan Central Church. Over 500 Brethren gathered to celebrate the Divine Service with the offering of sacraments for the departed souls. The sermon elaborated on our belief to pray for all, enemies and aliens to the Lord. God wants that all souls are saved but without faith nothing is possible (Colossians 1:21-23)
The offer of salvation is for all mankind, on earth and in the other world. To be saved, all must believe in the triune God, in the apostolate and in the imminent return of Jesus, and persevere in faith.
