“JOY in CHRIST” in the field
Visiting our members in the rural areas is always a special experience of joy. The District Apostle travelled already in many different ways however on the island of Panay, the path to Brgy San Vicente in Jamindan, Capiz was very unique. The last 2 km were muddy and he managed it with a Carabao drawn sled. The pictures show, it was fun. The purpose of this trip was the Wedding of Ev. Crisolito Ariola, the Rector of Iloilo and Panay to his brid Sr. Alona. Not too long ago this area was devastated by typhoon Yolanda and NACSEARelief team reached here to help. It is comforting to see how nature has regenerated and the crops are again plentiful.
Dugwakan (Banate, Iloilo) Congregation was the venue for the Sunday Service. The sermon was based on Colossians 3:12, The message: ‘called to serve according to God’s will, sanctified by word, grace and sacrament’ . A project inspection tour, further East in Bantad where NACSEARelief had Rehabilitation Projects on the go. First a food drive benefiting 500 families, then replacement of gears lost in the Surge flood for 70 fishermen, 9 classrooms re-constructed all funded by nak-karitativ of Germany. One Elementary School was rehabilitated by NAK-humanitas of Switzerland. The DA and his team assessed the work almost finished but also detected further needs such as desks for the children.
