Bicol Region

On Monday, 13th of February 2017

Bicol, according to government administration called Region 5 consists of 6 provinces in southern Luzon. The activities of the New Apostolic Church started in the 1980ties when Canadian Missionaries started an extensive evangelisation program all over the Philippines. Today about 1000 members are in various congregations throughout the provinces of Camarines Norte, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon and Masbate. The Bishop Armando Cao carries the pastoral responsibility for this very spread out NACPhil subdistrict and Apostle Siegfried Catan is the assigned Apostle. Also NACSEARelief has been active with typhoon relief, rehabilitation and school projects in the past.

Bishop Samuel Tansahtikno, who is about to move to the Philippines accompanied the District Apostle visiting Lopez and Daet where a Family Day resp a Youth Day were organised.

His message to the congregation in Lopez was based on Psalm 34:8-9.

God is good. He loves without expecting much from us therefor let us love and fear Him unconditionally, without expecting favours or even miracles. Our only ambition is to come close to the Lord thus we seek salvation and eternal life.

In Daet the sermon was focused on 1. Corinthians 16:9. Paul was aware of His commission and He had vision for the great opportunity of a great door open for the Ephesians. Yet so much adversities. Our door is open today. May especially the Youth not miss the chance the Lord gives to each reborn child of God. In Ephesus they were barely a dozen souls in the congregation, jewish traditions stood in the way and even business practices and so called miracles performed tried to prevent the Apostle, yet he was persistent.

Many of our congregations are small, old traditions try to prevent us and many lucrative promises deceive mankind also today. Let us continue to profess our faith despite adversity.

Glory be to God the Father also in the Bicol region.
