Handicraft Actual Teaching for Ministers’ Wives in Bohol
This program was initiated by Sister Lucienne Hebeisen, the wife of District Apostle Hebeisen. It is for the sisters to be able to have knowledge about handicraft. They were taught basic techniques in crocheting. (Crochet means a handicraft in which yarn is made up into a patterned fabric by looping yarn with a hooked needle). Through this program, the sisters might be able to make their livelihood project themselves such as making customized garment or clothes, towel designs, card or bag designs and so on.
These are the materials needed in doing crochet:
Firstly, they need to have patterns and charts, craft needle and craft thread or wool.
After they were taught handicraft techniques, the sisters started to thread with the given sample materials. Some were happy and excited and some are still confused but they were able to make it after trying repeatedly.
Afterwards, all handicraft materials were distributed to all sisters for them to continue doing it in their homes. They were so thankful and grateful for this great opportunity for it might help them somehow in the future.
In behalf of all ministers’ wives, Sister Lucienne would like to extend their gratitude to the sponsors Sr. Linda and Bro. Alfred Zurflueh who sent all the materials and made this event possible. As a sign of great appreciation, the sisters made a ‘thank you’ letter for the sponsors which they personally signed.
