Congresswomen Mercedes Alvarez graces inauguration of an “NAK-humanitas of Switzerland” project. The full completion of classrooms for the  Carol-an Elementary School Extension in Hulugon Negros Occidental  was celebrated with a prayer of  blessing by Ap. S. Catan from Dumaguete, on 23^rd January 2015. Congreswomen Mercedes Alvarez, parents and teachers witnessed the formal turning over of the 3 concrete classrooms for primary students to the officials of the Department of Education and the local school board.  Initially only 1 makeshift building, typhoon Bopha/Pablo destroyed it on its way out of the Philippines. NACSEARelief with funding from NAK-humanitas built 3 new classrooms which now ensure the sustainability of education for today’s students and generations to come in this remote Barrio.
