NAK-karitative in major food drive in the Philippines

On Tuesday, 26th of November 2013

While international media has no more in its headline, the tragedy typhoon “Haiyan” left behind, the misery is far from over. NACSEARelief and HOPEworldwide, in perfect teamwork, organised the distribution of packages containing bare necessities such as rice, other food stuff and products for hygiene in the northern area of Cebu Island. The Youth of NAC Cebu joined in the packing and distribution and soon attracted other volunteers. Assisted by the Cebu City government also the suppliers such as South Metro Supermarket joined the project with free transportations and other assistance. “Tabang Sugbo” as well “University of Cebu” One Scottish Visitor was on his way to attend family matters but when he saw how he can be of help he changed his plans and joined the group. 1000 families benefited and showered the around 50 volunteer workers with “thank you”s. A very positive feedback came from various quarters. “The right thing at the right time”, “well organised” etc. The funding was provided by “NAK-karitativ Germany” one of the Humanitarian Organisations of the New Apostolic Church. Also “NAK-humanitas of Switzerland” and “Mission NAK Germany South” besides “World Relief” of NAC USA are supporting the work of immediate relief and re-construction in the Philippines. A substantial support comes also from private donors. A true cooperation in the Philippine Bayanihan Spirit. “a tiring but succesfull weekend” our NACSEARelief Project Manager Ms Marlene Dattario, stated. More has to be and will be done.
