Pray for Paris
At the beginning of the divine service in Zwickau, last Sunday, the Chief Apostle referred to the terrorist attacks which are claiming hundreds of lives world-wide.
He quoted from Psalm 27: 3-4:
…Though war may rise against me, in this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the Lord, that will I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life.
In such dramatic situations
Let us remember the victims and their relatives and share their pain.
Let us place our trust completely in God. He does not forget the victims. The salvation which He has prepared for them will make them forget all the atrocities they have suffered. We pray for these souls that they may find and accept salvation in Christ.
Let us ask God for help also for ourselves, so that we can remain in His house. To be able to dwell in God’s house one has to accept His house rules. Hatred and prejudice have no place in God’s house. We cannot judge a person simply on the basis of his background or that he is different from us. Likewise, the machinations of the terrorists must not lead us to condemn all foreigners out of hand , nor to denounce all Muslims!
