The Chief Apostle in the tuna capital of the Philippines
Located in the region of Soccskargen, one of the amazing and culturally diverse places in the Philippines is the glimmering city of General Santos. The Chief Apostle will spend his weekend in the tuna capital of the Philippines.
General Santos is proudly the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. Famous for its numerous fisheries and ports, the city is an active fish producer, supplier, and exporter. And the long wait ends here: the Chief Apostle together with District Apostle Enrique Eduardo Minio (Argentina) and District Apostle Helper John William Fendt (USA) came for one good purpose: to celebrate the golden anniversary of the New Apostolic Church of the Philippines. On his agenda are a meeting with all Apostles from South-East Asia and all Bishops from the Philippines on Saturday, and a festive divine service in our Tupi church on the next day.
It was not without a reason why Southern Mindanao was chosen for the Chief Apostle’s visit this time. District Apostle Edy mentioned, “this area is the second largest population of our church members in the Philippines. Approximately 10,000 people with more than 400 congregations.” The good news is, the anniversary divine service on Sunday, 16 October will be transmitted throughout the entire country and even more: to the whole District Church of South-East Asia.
Our two beloved Apostles: Cleofas Bual and Alfredo Pascual will enter into a well-deserved retirement. The Chief Apostle then will ordain the two District Elders: Meddie Sabal and Freddie Nuyad as Apostles.
