Valentines Day, Youth Day in Naga, Bicol
Heavy rain did not hinder the youth to gather for their annual event. On a site near our Carolina Church a camp was set up by the family of Bh. Cao where the youth were accommodated for two days. Apostle Catan brought the District Apostle who was accompanied by the Bh. Samuel Tansahtikno from Jakarta. Saturday evening our young brethren showed their presentation skill and the District Apostle was again asked many questions on matters of faith. In the Sunday sermon which took place open air, canvasses protecting against the rain, the story of Jacob who had a longing to go home to his father’s house and to reconcile with Esau his brother was elaborated. Jacob was fighting for the blessing and it did hurt.
(Genesis 32:26) Likewise we are on the way home and fight for the blessing which is God’s Grace. Jesus helps us to get this victory, too. Everything has to be fought for.
The District Apostle appealed to the youth not to make decisions just because something looks good, or with the Esau attitude of immediate satisfaction of obviously a righteous need. We want to plan our lives with the Son of God who expects us to become His bride. Let us ask and seek and knock and the place where we are blessed without losing anything becomes visible.
Of course valentines day cannot be ignored in the Philippines. A paper rose was handed out to each Sister after the divine service.
