The District Apostle was barely 24 hours in Dumaguete, yet had a joyful and festive program. Br. Elmer Nocete married Sister Flora Mae Catan at our Central Church. The bible word dedicated to the couple was from John 21:15-17. Jesus asked Peter 3 times “do you love me” and the commission then was “feed”  Our wedding couple loves each other and confirmed that many times; today before God, the congregation and the law. “feed, nourish each other” is the Lord’s command, not just naturally, but spiritually, emotionally…… the District Apostle elaborated.

Some 500 young brethren in age bracket 14 to 16 were registered in the Philippines for Confirmation 2017. In the area of Ap. Catan 53. On Sunday 7th May 22 made their vow at the Dumaguete Church. Matthew 12:29 was the bases for the sermon.

Jesus was a strong man. Yet the devil tried to bind Him. His oneness with the Father, His humility and perfection as well trust in His Father together with love for mankind gave him the strength. The conclusion for our confirmands is “be strong as Jesus was” Don’t allow to be bound by opinions contrary to God’s will or pride denying grace, neither doubt constantly asking God for evidence of His love. Also our ego can bind us and undermine the love for God and our neighbour.
